I need help in understanding the real meaning of this maternity law statement: "A woman who has worked for at least 80 days in the 12 months immediately preceding her expected date of delivery will continue to be eligible."

Query - What is the minimum time period she has to spend with the company? If someone has joined in October 2018 and completes her 80 days at the end of December - is she eligible for this maternity benefit? (Even if she is still in her probation period?)

Please help.

Yes, as per law she is eligible for the same.

Thanks Manoj. I was confused because law used "in the 12 months" in line... So I thought the lady must stay with the organisation at least 12 months...
