The Factory Act aims to streamline the working conditions of workmen and deals with working hours, weekly offs, overtime, safety, welfare, health, etc., for workers. It also determines safety standards for machines, tools, tackles, and their best use to avoid accidents. However, it does not provide guidelines for productivity. Productivity is something different and needs to be determined by the management with the help of workmen engaged in the production process. Productivity is the ratio between input (man, machine, and capital) and output.
