Respected sir,

I was working with an organization for almost 5 years, and they generated a UAN number for me, 1000. However, after leaving the organization on 30th September 2016, I joined another organization on 4th October. I provided this UAN number to my new employer so that they could link their establishment with this UAN and credit my EPF amount to it. Due to ongoing upgrades on the EPFO site, they were unable to do so and ended up generating a new UAN for me, which is 1011. As I do not have Aadhaar, and I have applied for it, neither of these UANs are Aadhar seeded.

Now, I am planning to join another company, and I would like to use my first UAN there and transfer the amount accumulated in the second UAN to the first one to deactivate the second UAN. Can I submit my first UAN to my new employer and request them to link my new PF member ID to this UAN, or do I have to use my latest UAN only, which is the second UAN?

Since my first UAN is quite old, I prefer to use that UAN going forward and deactivate my latest UAN. Is it possible to do so, or do I have to use my latest UAN only?

Please guide me on the process.

Awaiting your urgent response.

Is there any member who can help me give the answer as I'm confused. I hope some of the members here know how EPFO works pretty well. Can I have a suggestion - If I want to retain the original and old UAN (1st UAN), can I ask my new employer to add this UAN instead of the second UAN and then I'll transfer the amount from the second UAN to the first UAN. Please suggest as it's really urgent. At least some members definitely have some ideas regarding that. Please.

Can anyone in this forum give me a suggestion? I thought I would get at least one suggestion, but unfortunately, none has given me any suggestion whatsoever.

I'm again requesting the respected members of this community to help me get the answer to my query if you have any.

Dear Sir, Keep a letter to EPFO to remove duplicate UAN. and form 13 for transfer.

Yes, thank you for your suggestion. I'll definitely transfer the amount accumulated in UAN 2 to UAN 1. But my query is entirely different. Can I request my 3rd company (where I'm joining in a few days) to use my first UAN instead of the second UAN? As my first UAN is the original and the oldest, and I want to keep this one only.

Can I do that? Or may my employer deny doing that?
