Hello everyone, I got an opportunity to work for one of the leading companies. I cleared all my interviews and got selected. The firm asked for my previous experience, which I showed them as 28 months. However, when the documents were verified with my previous organization, they showed only 15 months of experience. The new HR said that I took some leaves, which is the reason they are going to provide me the experience of 15 months only. I have a red mark on my BGC. Will it affect my future? I am just 20. Does this mean that I'll be blacklisted from all the top companies? Please let me know. Really a hard time.

Dear Mehul,

Kindly clarify the statement 'The new HR said that you took some leaves, that is the reason we are going to provide you the experience of 15 months only.'

This statement means that you were on leave for 13 months and you are okay with it... Forget the BGC red mark. Can you explain the leave of 13 months?

Is there something more to your query? Without the entire brief, the members will not be able to help you.

Dear Ashutosh,

I am currently pursuing my graduation and have recently joined NCC. Whenever I have to attend a camp or prepare for an exam, I take leaves. I am surprised to see that the total amount of leave I have taken has mounted up to 13 months.

Upon reviewing my salary account, I noticed that my salary has been credited 21 times. However, I am confused as to why my work experience is calculated at just 15 months.

Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Best regards,

Dear Mehul,

The experience certificate is from the date of joining until the date of exit. The leaves are not deducted for showing the experience. At most, they can say that between these dates, he was on leave for long periods.

So why, in the first place, did you accept a certificate that was not in accordance with your dates? Also, were you an employee, a trainee, or an intern? Even with 21 months of salary, being on leave for 7 months is something unheard of. You will have a tough time explaining this to any future employer. Even with exams, if you are on leave for 7 months in 28 months, it means you are absent for more than 3 months a year.

Amend your leave taking or you will seriously have trouble lined up for you.

Dear Mehul,

The experience period is counted from the date of joining until the date of leaving. Taking leave has nothing to do with your experience certificate. You might have the date of joining and separation details; please share the same. I am sure that the experience certificate, by deducting the leave period, is incorrect, and there are many ways to prove your experience to the current employer.
