Hi Sanjay,
I have a question regarding my previous employment history. I spent around 10 years in a company before being transferred to a new one. I had a UAN number from my previous company, and the new company also issued me a new UAN number. Now, I am curious if both UAN numbers will be considered for my pension. I have already withdrawn the PF from my previous company, but the family pension part is still pending. I am scheduled to retire in 4 years.
I would like to know if both UANs can be combined for the settlement of PF and family pension, or if I need to make separate claims for the pension. Is it possible to merge both UANs for pension consideration? My total service period, including after retirement, will be approximately 36 years. Additionally, I would like clarification on whether my services will be calculated continuously from 1984 since I have not changed companies; my original company was acquired by the current one, and I was transferred accordingly. Any information on this matter would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks and regards,
Sanjay

UAN means Universal Account Number. If will be one number throughout service for PF member. How did your new employer create new UAN?

Hi,
You can write a letter to the PF department with your employer's signature to merge the old UAN number with the new UAN number. Then the benefits would be extended. No need to worry about this, as these days the PF department itself is going directionless in implementing the very basic nature of UAN.
