Hi Everyone, I have been appointed as the HR (First) in a service organization. Here, there are no systems followed until now. Payroll is done by accounts with mistakes, and several other admin tasks are done in bits and pieces. We have around 200 employees. Employees here submit no leave form; they take leave and receive full salary without any attendance monitoring system. Our biometric machine works in such a way that it captures only the in-time, so employees are making their punches punctually in the morning and leave after half an hour to one hour without recording anywhere and later claim for a full day's salary.
Almost all the employees are aggrieved by the payroll process done by the accounts department as they are facing partiality issues.

Immediate Actions for Attendance Management
One action that you can take immediately is to keep a manual attendance register alongside biometric. The attendance must have a provision for "Entry Time" date-wise. Then create one more column for "Leaving Time" date-wise. If possible, be available when employees report for duty. Should there be shifts, then you must entrust the work to other responsible people. Make a suggestion to your management on the above lines for immediate implementation before a permanent solution can be found.
Once attendance and leaves are controlled and monitored, payroll problems will get streamlined. Please note that it is possible only with the support of your management.
