I had a query. Is it necessary to display the below-mentioned abstracts on the notice board of a company? Whether this is required by the labor office? Is there any other abstract which needs to be displayed?

- Abstract of Minimum wages
- Abstract of Gratuity
- Abstract of Maternity Benefit
- Abstract of Payment of Bonus Act
- Abstract of Contract Labour Act

Viraj

Hi Viraj,

Yes, it is necessary to display the above acts' abstracts on the company's notice board. In addition to this, you have to display the following Act abstracts:

a) The Shops and Establishment Act (if covered under this act)
b) The Payment of Wages Act
c) The Workmen's Compensation Act

  • Dear Member,

First, decide which of the labor enactments are applicable to your unit/establishment and then review them to identify those that provide us with the abstract of the Act and Rules for exhibition at the main entrance. It is not necessary that each Act and set of Rules directs us to display these abstracts.

    Dear One,

Please find the attached file of Abstracts of Acts to display.

Now, the question of displaying it on the notice board. If it's not possible practically, then do one thing; take a printout of the acts, file it, and place it at the reception or near the attendance sheet where all the employees can access it.

The main purpose is to display abstracts of acts so that employees are aware of the applicable acts. This purpose is now fulfilled.

    Thank you,
    Vikram

Is it required to display on the notice board for the regional office of construction companies (where actual construction does not take place), but where employees are also deployed under the security/housekeeping category, etc., through hired agencies, and where the total number of such employees is over 20?

Whether the display of all these abstracts needs to be shown in the case of a construction company at its regional office where only administrative and management functions take place, and not at a construction site office. We have employed various outsourced agencies for housekeeping/security, etc., the total of which exceeds 20. I would be thankful if this could be addressed via the forum since we are unsure if we fall under the ambit of mandatory displays, as we are neither a factory, shop, nor construction site, etc.

  • Dear All,

Pragnaa is facilitating the display of "Statutory Abstracts" in booklet format, which have been compiled with the various Mandatory "Statutory Acts" in English/Local Language for all southern States of India (Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Andhra, and Karnataka). This can be easily exhibited on the notice board and would not occupy much space.

The format of the same is attached for your reference. Interested employers, please write to us.
