Hi Sir/Madam,
I was working in a BPO in Gurgaon. It was a 30-seater company. I joined this organization on 15 July 2013. On 23 October 2013, when I was waiting for the office cab, my manager called me and said that I do not need to come to the office as there is less business now, so they are retrenching employees. No prior information was given to me. The big issue is that they are not giving my salary for the October month. They never gave me salary slips, no PF and TDS deductions were made. The salary used to transfer to the bank account. Also, they retrenched 15 more employees, including me, and everyone is facing the same issue.
Sir, can you please guide me on how I can get my salary for the October month?
Thanks,
Kunal

Hi Kunal,
Have you received the appointment letter from this company? If yes, then please go through the clauses of termination of services mentioned in the appointment letter; they will clear your doubts. Generally, companies give an additional one-month salary in lieu of termination of services, which is clearly mentioned in the appointment letter. If you find such a clause in your appointment letter, then first send an email to the official mail id of HR and ask them to clear your dues. If you still don't receive any action from them, you may consider taking legal action.

Well, I hope you must have received the appointment letter mentioning the terms and conditions of employment, including the notice period, etc. Please go through that, and if they are not following the same as you were told, you should approach HR or send an email mentioning your issues. Also, add the CEO, MD, and Head of HR in your email and ask for a response. Wait for a couple of days, and if they do not reply, then register a complaint at the labor office.
Additionally, going in a group with other employees who have the same issue may help in getting a quicker response from the labor officer.
