Dear Seniors,

Greetings for the day,

I have completed my MBA in HR and have one year of experience in Core End-to-End recruitment. Recently, I have been selected to work as an Executive Trainee - HR at an Edible Oil Manufacturing company. In this role, it will be a generalist profile, with 80% of my responsibilities focused on IR activities such as Contract Labour Management, handling legal issues, managing wages and salary concerns, as well as addressing Labour and trade union matters. I was confirmed for this position solely based on my performance.

I am seeking your suggestions on how I can enhance my theoretical and practical knowledge in these areas. Do you recommend pursuing any specific courses or law-related training?

Warm Regards,
Deepak Agarwal

Dear Seniors,

Thank you for your valuable suggestions. I will try to follow them. As a beginner in this area, I have attempted to study books on labor law, but they lack examples and case studies for every section and rule. It is very challenging to understand a law without an example or a past case theory. Could you please suggest some labor law books that include examples? Additionally, I am looking for a book specifically on the subject of Industrial Relations and its functions and activities.

Warm Regards,
Deepak Agarwal
