I'm the HR Manager at a startup. With an intention to motivate employees and make the office a happy place to be, I plan to award the best-dressed employee with a gift on the occasion of Independence Day. Would be grateful if anyone can give me relevant ideas for the same.

It works well; the best dress is enjoyed by many. Also, include some fun games and introduce theme dressing in groups of 3 or 5. This way, you can experience the real Indian concept of "UNITY AMIDST DIVERSITY."
Introduce a best food or best sweet competition so that you can taste different cultures and interests. Participants can make it at home and bring it, but not buy it. Additionally, introduce the "opposite talk," a new idea of mine where participants give the name of a person in the company, and they speak in opposite words. For example, if one says "I love you," the other might say "I hate you." It should not be abusive, to avoid negativity. This activity can help analyze the environment, reveal real facts, and contribute to improvement. Ensure there is a time limit for speeches, like a pick-and-speak style.
You can also have patriotic song competitions to remind participants of their college days. These activities are sufficient for a day. In between, incorporate small fun games like eating, drinking, and team activities such as blowing balloons and arranging them in the color order of the flag for points. For punishment games, consider challenges like doing push-ups in a minute or sitting and standing up to music cues. These activities will bring a sense of nostalgia and fun, especially when participants are dressed according to a theme.
