Dear All,

I sent a resignation from my job via email about three years ago to continue my studies. However, my resignation was not accepted due to my liabilities. I am still in the process of paying off my liabilities, and my resignation has not been accepted yet. I am now nearing the completion of my studies and wish to rejoin my previous job. What steps should I take? Your help in this matter would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Hello Kammur,

Can you please elaborate on 'I am still paying my liabilities'? For 3 years, what sort of liabilities are you referring to - that you are still paying for them?

You also mentioned '...and join my previous job again' - is your company ready to take you back after a 3-year gap?

Regarding your query 'What do I have to do?' - have you discussed this rejoining with the HR of the company? If YES, what did they say? What is the process they suggested? If NO, why not?

Please give as many details as possible - this will enable the members to give the most suitable suggestions.

Regards,

Dear,

I filled a bond at the time of joining which was about 4 thousand dollars (my liability towards the company). Now, I am paying back this liability in installments. Sorry, I made a writing mistake in my previous text. Actually, I am about to finish my studies, and I want to rejoin my job again.

One year ago, I wrote to them to consider my study leave application, and the reply was, "Your request for withdrawal of resignation has been considered and declined by the competent authority. Please note that the Office Order regarding the acceptance of your resignation from the company service will be issued after the clearance of entire liabilities towards the Company."

However, I want to withdraw my resignation and rejoin the services again as my resignation is still not accepted.

Kammur

Hello Kammur,

When you had a US$4K liability, how did you expect the company to accept your resignation? You haven't mentioned if you have discussed the present situation with HR now. I suggest speaking to them and convincing them of your interest in rejoining, which could be a bit tough. Just because they haven't yet accepted your resignation doesn't mean they are willing to take you back. I am not sure of your relationship with your earlier boss; if it was good, maybe you can speak to him/her too and take it from there.

All the best.
