Greetings,
I have completed B.Tech in IT and I am about to finish my PGPM in Marketing and MBA in HR in the next few days. My summer internship was also in HR. I want to utilize my B.Tech knowledge as well. So, in the long run, I see myself in HR in IT companies. However, as a fresher, I am not getting many opportunities in HR. Therefore, I am confused. Should I wait for a good opportunity in HR, or for the time being, should I go for a BD profile as there are more vacancies available in the market for BD profiles? Additionally, every company is asking for experience in HR profiles. Could you please suggest what I should do? If I start with a BD profile now, will it be suitable to switch after gaining experience in BD? Your valuable suggestions would be highly appreciated.

Dear Neha,
BD is different from HR. It is a fact that the job market scenario, especially for freshers, is very stagnant. There are practically no jobs, and I agree with that.
Instead of pursuing BD, you can consider taking up a recruiter's role in a consultancy. You can utilize your IT background to screen relevant IT profiles. This way, you can gain experience without deviating from your goal of entering the IT industry through HR.
I hope this advice helps you make a better decision. All the best.
