Hello all,

Could anyone please help me out with the buddy system of work as I am planning to introduce it to my team of 10? I am part of a background screening company and am tasked with creating a whole new work procedure, which is when I came across this idea. Can anyone provide me with a better understanding of how I could start it from scratch and how to foster a strong bond between buddies?

Thanks in advance,

Amarnath Nair

Dear Harshal16, Thank you for the ppt attachment. It explains very well the concept of the Buddy System. My concern is whether such postings, as immediate responses, encourage a dependency culture.

Dear Simhan Sir,

I am sorry if I offended you with my immediate response. Maybe you are right; this might lead to a dependency culture. I just didn't think of it that way when I posted it and never thought that it was an inadvertent contrast to your posting. I just felt the urgency, which I myself have experienced sometimes when we are under pressure to implement something. But next time, I will take care.

My apologies

Great positive attitude shown here by two members. We should learn from them. Everything in this world is urgent when we need it, but we should strive for it; otherwise, we will not realize the real value of it. If we spoon-feed the needy ones, they will not understand the effort in creating those valuable things for everybody. There is a saying, "Unless the baby is not crying, even the mother doesn't feed her baby." Additionally, we should remember that the mother does not immediately feed her baby; she waits patiently to determine if the baby really needs to be fed or is crying for something else.

Thanks to the members for this valuable lesson, it is even beneficial for me. My regards, Arminta.

Dear Mr. Harshal,

The PPT on the Buddy Scheme was simple and lucid. It was well-sequenced and easy for a beginner to understand the concept. Kudos to your efforts! I am confident that even a layperson can grasp the essence of it. I appreciate the healthy discussion that took place and the wonderful pat on the shoulder by Arminta. That was a lovely way of expressing it.

At the end, for a learner, it was a good learning experience, with the additional bonus of picking up life's lessons so well described. Thanks a ton to Mr. Harshal, Mr. Simhan, and Ms. Arminta.

Regards,
Dr. Malathi Shiri
