Dear Nipa,
For analyzing productivity, first of all, you have to establish a per person productivity for each employee (i.e., from CEO to a layman, you will set a productivity grid and calculate an average productivity for each employee). I hope the following example will provide some sort of solution to your question.
1. We shall set the average productivity of an employee at 10,00,00 per month.
2. How many employees are currently working in your factory? Let's say 100.
3. According to HR, the productivity for that particular month should be 100 * 10,00,000.
4. Obtain the output details from the Production/Accounts Department for the particular month. For example, in the construction field, we refer to this as the billing amount. For instance, if 15 employees worked at a site and billed an amount of 5,50,000, then the per person productivity of the site would be 5,50,000 / 15.
5. Compare points 3 and 5 to determine if you have met the targeted productivity or not. If you need further clarification, feel free to call me.
