Can someone suggest a few exercises that can lead to excitement at the workplace with a maximum level of participation? I would like to create some fun in the organization. Also, please suggest a few simple games for birthday parties.

Hi Ramya,
For excitement, we have lunch together whether it's with the Project Manager, Team Leader, or any other team members, all sitting at one table. This fosters a friendly atmosphere. Additionally, we organize tours every six months outside of Delhi.
We send birthday greetings, wishing him or her from the entire team and have a sort of get-together in the evening.

I would like to share an activity that we do in our organization on a monthly basis, and it is a lot of fun. We call this "Aa-mil-ga, mate!" It is, in layman's terms, a welcoming activity for new joiners. Every month, we have a few people joining us, and at the end of each month, we set aside 2 hours (on any Saturday) to organize this event. All new joiners, regardless of their level, are asked to perform something and introduce themselves to everyone. When well-prepared, it becomes a fun experience and helps in bonding among new joiners. You may want to try it.

The play part will be taken care of by employees themselves. Just leave them alone and stop troubling them with these games. These activities will not create excitement but only frustration. Conduct a real survey and then check out the results to see whether employees like the HR games or would prefer to go home.

- Create bulletin boards for fun - any employees can add anything within reason to the board. It can be to have fun with someone in the company or a national figure or issue. No ridiculing, no hurtful comments!
