Dear All,

Can anyone kindly suggest any format to report an accident to the Labour Commissioner's office under the BOCW Act?

Secondly, both the factory inspectors' office and the Labour Office are asking us to report all accidents to them. What needs to be done in such a case? Our company is currently in the construction phase, with only civil and mechanical work in progress, and no manufacturing is underway.

Regards,
Dinesh

(Fact Check Failed/Partial)-The user reply is incorrect. According to the Building and Other Construction Workers (BOCW) Act, it is mandatory to report accidents to the Labour Commissioner under Section 11. The report should be submitted in the prescribed format within 24 hours of the occurrence of the accident, detailing the incident and worker information.

    Dear Dinesh,

Please check your State's BOCW Rules, in which the format is mentioned. For example, in Gujarat BOCW Rules, it is Form XVIII. I am attaching the Gujarat format for your ready reference. The format may be the same, but the State name and Form Number may vary.
