I am an HR practioner. I need more topics on behavioral trainings for our new managers. Can anybody share?

What topics have you thought of? How about starting with some thinking on your own, posting the topics you have thought of, providing more context, and engaging others in a discussion rather than asking us to do your homework while you busy yourself relaxing?

Sathyaish,

I might have mistaken in understanding that this website involves professional sharing of what they know. I have seen a lot of practitioners sharing their ideas and experiences. If you are hesitant to do that or thinking the other way around, then I think it would be ethical to just not reply to this thread. "Relaxing" it would be very inappropriate to brandish such judgment when you do not know me personally and have not worked beside me. A note below the thread says, "Keep your conduct professional & polite". I am expecting you to be polite and professional enough.

I apologize. I've been a jerk. I was in a pretty bad mood last night.

That and the nature of your question, being similar to many others that just ask for their work to be done, added to my agitation.

I wish that after the apology, no judgment or description were added to the question asked. That would have made it sound better. Why apologize if there is still mockery in the question? There is nothing called a bad question.

I believe that whoever is not willing to share or commit to the professional conduct of the group, or is in a bad mood, should refrain from answering at all. One's mood is their own problem, not other people's. It's not fair to vent on others whom we do not know. I was personally offended by seeing that response, which might discourage others from asking questions in the future, fearing a similar reaction. This would hinder the learning and sharing that should occur here, which is not the purpose of why we are all here. Let's be more careful next time.

Gianneanchor, I suggest that the very first thing should be to undergo communication training. The training content could include different types of people and how they behave, helping newcomers learn how to deal with various personalities. You could also add some tips about organizational culture. Just my two cents.

Cheers,

Thank you so much for lifting me up. I am a new member here. I'm compiling materials for an in-house training and have just started with this craft. Maybe I can share these files when everything is in place. Thanks for the tips :).

Hi,

For new managers, you can add training in areas such as conflict management, managing self and others, business etiquette, team building, and time management. I do agree with preaching that you should start with communication first.

All the best,

Hello!

Does your organization have a behavior framework (BF)? Once a BF is in place, then all behavioral trainings can be developed and executed around the BF. We can help your organization develop a BF.

Gianneanchor, why don't you start off behavioral trainings with the very experience you had while asking this question? Communication comes first. Inculcate that in your communication snippet - question framing: how, to whom, where, and perceiving replies; how, where, etc. You have a great example set in this very thread of emails.
