Hi, I would like to know how to prepare a MIS report and if possible, send me a copy of it so I'll be able to understand better. What are the types of MIS, etc., and everything related to MIS. Since I'm looking out for a job and have no prior experience in preparing reports. It would be helpful if you can send it as an attachment.

Hi Maxne,
MIS report is known as Management Information System, regarding the manpower status of a particular month, place, and overall. It helps the management in decision-making, such as identifying reasons for resignation, areas with high attrition rates, and various other aspects to facilitate decision-making. With the help of MIS, you can prepare numerous reports like annual attrition, region-wise attrition, region-wise manpower distribution, graphical representation of regional manpower status, and more.
You can also prepare similar reports at your end, as it will aid you in creating other formats as well. I am outlining the contents sheet-wise:
First Sheet-
Details of employees:
a. E. Code
b. Name of the employee
c. Date of birth
d. Designation
e. CTC
f. Address for communication
g. Permanent address
h. Contact number
i. Blood group
j. Maximum qualification
k. Extra qualification
l. Total Experience
Second Sheet-
Salary structure:
In this sheet, document the complete salary structure and include a column for post-revision salaries.
Third Sheet -
New Joinees:
List the names of new joiners for that month with details like CTC, Designation, DOB, etc.
Fourth Sheet -
Resigned employees:
List the employees who resigned during that particular month, including their name, designation, date of joining, date of resignation, and last working day.
Fifth Sheet -
Attrition rate:
Based on this MIS report, you can generate attrition reports, qualification analysis reports, team management reports, and more.

Thank you very much for your prompt reply, Mr. Amir. I do not have any experience working in any HR field previously, so I request if I could really have it done on an Excel sheet with a couple of examples, so I may be able to understand it better.
Also, I would like you to advise on any part-time or correspondence HR courses in Chennai that will give me some experience.
Thanks,
Maxne

Thanks Mr. Peer, it was useful. I would like to know how to prepare them on an Excel since I have no prior experience. I have only experience working for an insurance company as an Admin Incharge. Let me know the HR policies - what should an HR executive know in terms of working for a company? What are the openings for a person with no prior experience? Thanks.

Can somebody help me in finding the online Marketing users survey in India? I am trying my best to get it but to no avail. I need the percentage of people using the internet as a means of purchasing a product from the net in India. Any useful links or some charts indicating the percentage and the products that are bought through the internet.
I have to produce this report to my Head-HR for research.
Thanks
