Dear Seniors,

This is Mohan, working in the MSME industry as an Office Manager (assuming this role due to my work). I have been working here for the last 2 years and have gained great exposure to management and some legal activities. However, I have only completed a BCA degree. I have attempted to switch to other MNCs occasionally but have been unsuccessful due to the lack of a relevant PG degree.

My friends have suggested that I pursue the Company Secretary (ACS) course considering my past experiences. I am also inclined towards pursuing CS, but I feel the following constraints may hinder my progress:
1) I am a 24x7 worker for my company.
2) My native place is TN, but I am currently in MP-Bhopal.
3) I am unable to attend any supplementary courses for CS.

Some have mentioned that pursuing CS without an LLB (Law) degree may not be beneficial and may not lead to a top career.

I kindly seek your guidance and request you to be a guiding light in my life.

With hope,
D. Mohan

Dear Mohan,

You can definitely go for CS course. It can be done either by postal coaching or oral coaching. However, you will have to devote some time to your studies since it is a professional course. CS will involve regular interaction with the CFO and other top management team members, Board of Directors, shareholders, government agencies, professionals, etc. If you join a big group with a full-fledged secretarial department, there is no issue. However, smaller companies would expect you to take on additional assignments such as accounts, import/export, legal, etc., depending on the company's requirements, as they may not have full-time work for a CS. Hence, in due course, you may want to seek additional exposure as well. However, right now, you will have to make time for studies, and if necessary, consider changing your job. For details on the CS course, you can visit the ICSI website: Home.

Thanks

Dear Sir,

Thank you for your reply and for being a well-wisher in my CS career.

In parallel, I plan to pursue ML (Law) in Distance Mode at Symbiosis University to enhance the real value of CS in the future. I have no prior knowledge about it, and this idea was also suggested by my dependents.

Could you please share your insights on whether this is feasible or not?

Regards,
D. Mohan.

Yes, you can go for this two-year course for which details can be obtained from the following link: [Symbiosis International University : Preferred University for Students](http://siu.edu.in/prog_finder/program_finder.php). ICSI permits one additional course with the CS course. The CS course is also mainly based on law, so it would be a good combination.

Best wishes
