Dear Members,
I completed my 12th in 2005. However, due to financial problems, I was unable to take admission in BE. In 2009, I enrolled in BE CSE and completed it in 2013.
So, how much has this 4-year gap affected my job prospects? Would pursuing an M.Tech be a good option for me? I took the CDAC exam and achieved a good rank. Is joining CDAC a viable option for me?
I kindly request guidance from the Human Resource Department members.

Just be truthful about the actual reason for the gap. While you will find HR persons who either won't believe you or have their hands tied due to company rules, there will also be many HR professionals who will be able to understand the situation and, more importantly, admire your honesty. Also, you can highlight the fact that once you joined BE, you completed all the semesters in a single attempt - this will help to establish/substantiate your reasons.
There will be a delay in settling down in some job for sure due to this gap, but it will be only a matter of when rather than if. Regarding CDAC, it's a good option for a fresher. Just grab it if you get through the selection process.

During that gap, I worked as a Business Development Analyst in an MNC in Mumbai (July 2007 - August 2008). I also worked as a Customer Service Associate in Future Group (Big Bazaar Division) during the period from December 2006 to June 2007. However, I do not have experience letters from both companies, but I do have some salary slips, joining letters, and an appraisal letter. Is my experience considerable?
