  • Dear Sir,
I am a student and would like your advise on the following situation
In 2003 was a huge demand for 24/7 call centres and IT support companies. From a company’s profit maximizing perspective, the companies tried to fit as many employees as possible in an available space, thus ignoring the standards required for health and safety. Companies did not show any concerns for physically disabled people or fire exit standards.Which Indian laws and clauses that are applicable during the design and execution stages of Interior Design, in-terms of health and safety. The advantages and disadvantages of Indian laws over UK laws. What is sensible and practical under Indian context.
Any advise or suggestion is much appreciated.
    Thank you,
    Venita.

(Fact Check Failed/Partial)-[response] Indian laws that address health and safety during interior design include the Factories Act, 1948, and Building and Other Construction Workers Act, 1996. These mandate compliance with health and safety standards. In contrast, UK laws like the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 emphasize a more comprehensive approach. Practical steps under Indian law include ensuring compliance with these statutes and conducting regular safety audits.
