Dear all,

I am an HR Officer Trainee in a company, and I am responsible for handling all HR activities. I have a query regarding the PF Annual return process. Currently, Form 3A and Form 6A need to be submitted to the PF Office.

In Form 3A, I would like to clarify the Contribution period. Is it from March to February or from April to March? Another question I have is about the timing of PF remittances. As of now, the February month's PF remittance is being recorded in the March month of Form 3A.

Is this the correct procedure, or should the contributions for each month be reflected in the corresponding month of Form 3A? For example, should the March month's contribution be shown in the March month of the same year in PF Form 3A?

Thank you.

In Form 3a, we have to mention the period from April to March. This is because the contribution pertaining to March is paid in April, and the accounting year starts from April to March. Therefore, as far as Form 3a is concerned, the period should be from April to March, and the contribution pertains to March to February.

Dear Ramachandran,

Thank you very much for your reply to my query.

In Form 3A, we need to provide the contributions from March to February. Therefore, the February month remittance would be listed in the March month of the same year. Right!

Here at the PF office, they have asked me to provide the PF contribution for the same month in Form 3A. This has left me a bit confused.

Thanks & Regards,
