Dear Parvez,
I am looking for various Labour Law Acts in India, especially those frequently used by HR professionals in the Manufacturing and IT/ITes industries. I am also curious to know if there is a distinct act or law specifically for the IT/ITes industry or if they are encompassed within the service sector laws. Nonetheless, I would appreciate having some reading material on these topics.
Could you kindly recommend some books that I can refer to, particularly those written in layman's terms regarding laws? The technical law terminology often makes the concepts challenging to grasp.
Thank you in anticipation.
Best wishes,
Hussain

Does the Employment Exchanges Act apply to private sector organizations? Additionally, there is an act called "The Labour Laws (Exemption from Furnishing Returns and Maintaining Register by Certain Establishments) Act, 1988." For which industries is this act applicable?
Please clarify.

Dear Sreedevi,
As far as point number one is concerned, it's 100% applicable to the private sector too. Regarding point number 2, it applies to establishments that do not employ more than 9 employees. They will be exempted from the scheduled act, which is mentioned in the schedule of the act to submit common returns and maintain records.
