Dear All,
It's not a stupid question. If we all know something and the other person doesn't know, then it doesn't mean that it's a stupid question. Being a fresher, she doesn't have the general idea which we all have due to experience. It's like a kid who is trying to learn, and we elders are taking it as a stupid thing.
Hi Shilpa,
Very truly said by Mr. Shivayogi, but still, it's up to the company, the location, your qualification, knowledge, and also upon the candidate how well he/she negotiates. Generally, companies have their budget criteria as well. Being a fresher, you can ask for 10-15 K per month.
Have a nice day :)

@Kalpnayadav, I totally agree with you. It depends on the company's wage and salary policy, its budget, the knowledge of the candidate, his/her presentableness, the working location's cost of living, and the availability of candidates for that post. Basically, these are the main factors. As a fresher, I think demanding Rs 10k-20k is reasonable.

I don't know why the question has been called the stupid one, especially when it's been emphasized and asked as the bracket for freshers. Amazingly, this is the one question that propagates within the heart of every young management student, whether they study at Ram Pyari Management College or pursue a PG diploma from IIM-A.
In our experience, it depends on the industry, the company, and even within the company (with some slab systems, depending on the weightage awarded to your college, such as in some telecom and FMCG companies, etc.).
Normally, it ranges between 2.5 to 4 lakh for the majority of roles if you are from a Class 2 or Class 3 management college. Otherwise, 6 lakhs to 12 lakhs is generally the prevailing range if you happen to be from the leading brass.
Good luck.

Dear Members,
Please do not hurt others with your words. If you are interested, please reply; otherwise, just keep quiet. Do not try to overrule others or show off yourself.

Dear Shilpa,
Kalpna and Gautam are very true and logical. No need to discuss much on this question. We should keep all the controlling factors in mind - Company's policy and strength, demands and capability of the candidate, market trends, and exceptions (if any). Also, no need to let your morale down due to some of the illogical suggestions.
