Dear Mr. Johnson,

In my experience with National Safety Day (NSD) celebrations, it appears that in many organizations, the focus is primarily on the safety department as if it were their exclusive event. The Safety Pro is often left to coordinate and execute the celebration as they see fit. However, in other functions, such as those involving the administration, technical departments, and management, there is also a noticeable level of interest.

Therefore, my suggestion to you, especially if you are a safety professional, is not to shoulder all the responsibilities alone. Instead, create a detailed program for the event, including aspects like tendering for functions, lighting arrangements, audio setups, etc. Clearly define responsibilities and accountabilities for each task. Seek approval from top management, then delegate and supervise the tasks to others. Focus on the core planning activities and let others handle the arrangements.

When it comes to the program conductor, typically the anchor, their role is to present the program in an engaging manner. Their primary responsibility is to ensure that the audience remains interested and engaged throughout the event.

I hope this guidance is helpful and aligns with what you were looking for. Please feel free to share your thoughts and comments.

Kind regards,
