Dear All,

Please tell me to which type of industries ESI and PF are applicable. If it is a new company with around 50 employees that manufactures electronic devices fitted with motors, are PF and ESI necessary to be provided to its employees? Also, what is the procedure (registration, etc.) for the same?

Waiting for your kind replies.

Dear Ankita Maheshwari,

ESI will cover where 10 persons are working, and in case of PF, 20 persons are required. When it comes to the registration process, you need to get the registration form from the concerned departments. You can also download the forms from the site. After submitting the registration forms, you will receive the registration numbers, i.e., code numbers.

Dear Ankita,

I am sending you the required forms for registration under the EPF Act. The procedure for ESI is similar, but the application form will be different. Kindly prepare two sets of documents. One set needs to be deposited in the office, and for the other one, please obtain an acknowledgment from the office to confirm receipt.

For further details, feel free to contact us.

Dear Ankita,

Anil has provided you with sufficient information. It would always be better if you take the initiative to gain knowledge on your own. As a young HR professional, relying too much on being spoon-fed may lead to challenges in the future.

All the best,

Dear all,

If any manufacturing establishment has a minimum of 10 employees, it falls under the ESIC Act 1948, making ESI applicable once the employee count exceeds 9. Similarly, if an establishment exceeds 19 employees, the EPF & MP Act 1952 becomes applicable.

For the registration procedure, please visit www.epfindia.com and www.esic.nic.in or www.esic.in. For any queries, please contact us at 9811391857 or email me at .
