Dear All,

I am an MBA in HR with five years of experience in HR. I now wish to pursue an MSW in labor management of industrial relations or personnel management of labor law. I have searched online but have not been able to find enough information. Alternatively, should I consider a PG Diploma in labor law? However, I would have to do it through correspondence or privately. Please suggest some reputable universities or institutes. I am looking forward to your input.

Dear Pooja,

Only at Chennai can you pursue an MSW course through correspondence. Nowhere else will you find this course. Since you already have an MBA, consider enrolling in some diploma courses in labor laws.

Dear,

You can do it in Gujarat as well from any of the universities. I suggest "Maharaja Sayajirao University, Vadodara, Gujarat" and "Sardar Patel University, Vallabh Vidyanagar, Gujarat".

If you need any information regarding this, feel free to ask.

Amit.

Pooja,

Think about whether you prefer personnel management or HR. You would be better off focusing on labor law if HR is more aligned with core-generalists or staffing and recruitment. I suggest pursuing core HR along with labor law as a good option.

Dear Pooja,

My suggestion is don't go for MSW because you already did MBA (HR). Even though MSW (HR) has some similar subjects, MBA does not cover Labour Laws and fieldwork. When you have already completed your masters, I recommend pursuing a PG Diploma in Labour Laws with regular classes as it will provide you with a clear understanding of labour laws.

I did my MSW (HR) in Mangalore and currently work as an HR & Admin Officer. Knowledge of labour laws has been immensely helpful in my career.

As an HR professional with an MBA and five years of experience, I don't believe there is a necessity to pursue any additional degrees or diplomas post-MBA. Simply obtaining another degree or diploma won't significantly alter your career trajectory.

If you lack exposure to labor laws during your five years in the field, I recommend self-studying important laws. By taking the initiative to learn independently, you can gain more knowledge than just acquiring another degree or diploma.

Dear All,

I hold an MBA in HR and have five years of experience in the field. I am now considering pursuing an MSW in labor management of industrial relations or personnel management of labor law. I would appreciate any recommendations for reputable universities or institutes.
