Dear Seniors,
I have completed my BSc in Computers. I had the opportunity to work as an HR & Admin Assistant in a construction company for one year, and now I am working for a software company. I am currently seeking a change and am interested in working specifically in the HR department.
Due to my background in BSc Computers, during interviews, I am often asked why I chose a career in HR. My response has been that I started in HR as my first job opportunity and have continued in the field since then. However, I would like to respond to this question more effectively.
I would appreciate any suggestions on how to answer this question in a more professional manner.

Dear Sree,
In interviews, you should express that HR is your passion, and you aspire to excel as a maestro in HR. Your long-term goal is to become an HR manager. This approach will help satisfy the interviewer. All the best, buddy!

Dear Seniors,
I am new to this forum, and this is my first post. Please pardon any mistakes I may make. My query is that I completed my Engineering (Electronics and Telecommunication) in 2009, and for the past year, I have been working on HR projects in a large MNC as a Trainee Engineer. I enjoy the work I do and wish to pursue a career in HR management. Could you please guide me regarding the following points:
1. How should I communicate to my company my interest in transferring to the HR department?
2. What courses or certifications should I pursue to enhance the value of my B.E. degree?
3. How should I proceed?
Thank you for your assistance. I look forward to your valuable advice and suggestions.
Best regards,

Hi Sree,
Your answer is good, but you have to put it the other way. "I accidentally or blissfully got my first opportunity to work in HR and have good experience in the entire gamut of HR. With experience in the HR field, I didn't want to change. So, I have decided to become a professional HR. Additionally, I am pursuing my Master's in Human Resources." Yes, join an MBA program; it will help you.
If you have more queries, please post them.
Thank you.

Dear Sampann Agarwal,
Firstly, welcome to HR Maestro.
1. You show that you have a great interest in HR.
2. It would be an added advantage if you complete PGHRM, PGDM in HR, MBA (HR), or MSW to further your career in this field.
3. You can inquire about job enlargement opportunities by speaking with your HOD and the HR department to see if there are any vacancies in HR within the company.

Hi friend,
Sounds good.
1. How should I tell my company to put me in their HR department?
Go to your HR Head directly (in person) and express your feelings. I am sure they will consider you.
2. What course/certification should I do to add value to my B.E. degree?
If you want to continue in HR, then do an MBA from a reputed university.
3. How should I proceed?
I hope there are no hurdles in your way, just keep pushing until you break through. Keep rocking.

Hi Sree...!! Well, that question is quite common. You need to respond cleverly. Simply state that your interest lies in HR, and you possess the skill set that makes you confident in becoming a successful HR professional. Additionally, I recommend pursuing a postgraduate or diploma course in management with a specialization in Human Resources. In general, having the right skill set is crucial for excelling in HR, but complementing it with academic or professional qualifications is equally important.
Best of luck. Thanks

Dear Seniors,
Actually, I can't do a full-time MBA and need to support my family. So what should I do in this case:
1. Should I pursue a part-time or executive course from a reputed university?
2. Currently, I only have 1 year of experience, and part-time/executive courses usually require 2-3 years of experience. What do you suggest?
3. What certifications should I consider obtaining in the meantime, or are there any recommended books I should read?
Thank you.
