Dear Ajitha,

Great work.

At the Sanjivini Human Resources Institute, we have developed a mathematical model by which one can actually measure one's current state of work life balance.

The idea is that the concept of 'balance' cannot be a 'one size fits all' one, Even for an individual, the balance keeps on changing, as it is influenced by many factors.

What we have experienced while conducting our WLB programmes is that, particularly in today's environment of economic melt down, pink slips and what have you, more and more younger corporates are beginning to feel the heat, of the pulls and counter pulls of family and work demands.

Just as it is not enough to know that you 'have fever', but must be able to actually measure it, understand why it is so, and then do something about it, we need to address WLB quite seriously.

Unfortunately, unlike in the fever analogy, 98.4 F is not normal for everyone as far as WLB is concnerned!!!!

fortunately on the other hand, leading corporates are seized with the problem, and are addressing it.

With best regards,

Commodore Shekhar

Thank you for posting students' work. My main criticism of students' work is that they fail to give a bibliography indicating where they copied some of the works.

Also, see Work Life Balance - Frequently Asked Questions for details of work-life balance (WLB) issues in Ireland.

Have a nice day.

Thank you so much. I have a movie version of this but the powerpoint version serves as a good handout after my facilitation of "change management" process.

Dear Commodore Shekhar,

I am happy to learn about such an innovative method to measure work-life balance. I am developing a module on this subject for an NGO. Is it possible for you to share that model for the benefit of the participants?
