Hi All,

I am looking at creating a women-centric HR policy for my organization. I would like to know about the challenges that we may face and the types of policies that currently exist in the industry with a focus on the female workforce. Any assistance in this matter would be greatly appreciated. If you have a draft of similar policies, it would be very helpful if you could share it with me at h_roops@yahoo.co.in.

Thank you,

Some prevalent women-employee policies are: Career Break - for further education, joining a spouse on transfer, bringing up a young child, etc. Late working policy, Flexi-working policy, Travel policy - Women employees can benefit from a company car in case of off-site travel, etc. Some of these policies can also be introduced for male employees.

I am with Mr. Vinod. Make good HR policies without any bias or favoritism towards any particular gender.

In case you are going to employ more women, policies such as flexible hours may actually hinder office discipline and efficiency, as there may be a shortage of staff during crucial times.

I am also unsure about what women-centric policies can be implemented. Perhaps creches for children? What else?
