Hi Nishant,
This is a great case study, but you definitely need to change the background on those PowerPoint slides; they are very distracting. Also, just a suggestion - should you be putting up Covey's 4 quadrants on a slide before the case study details are put in so participants have a reference for its solutions.
Thanks for sharing, Nishant.

Dear Yaseen,
There is no one "perfect" solution to many cases like this one. Different people take different stances for Sam and his boss. So, if you know the basics right (4 quadrants theory - for that you will have to go through the book 7 Habits of Highly Effective People), you will find a reasonably genuine solution.

In real life, there is no isolated reason or solution to this kind of problem. Hence, in the course of one's career, the supervisor has to interact with individuals in his/her team and offer constructive advice to ward off any developing habits that could be detrimental to the individual or the team as a whole. Making sudden discoveries and abrupt terminal decisions, without considering the root causes, does not foster the correct working environment in an organization.
Therefore, in my opinion, supervisors should silently observe each individual, conduct root cause analyses of any unnatural behavior through discussions, provide sincere advice, and implement a time-bound improvement plan. Failing at any of these steps, terminal decisions should be made. Employees are the most valuable assets of any business, and mishandling such situations can leave a negative impact on other employees in the organization.

Yes, Nishant, keep it up. The Training and Development Centre for Excellence at Sahara appreciates your views and notes on what we all learn together. Yes, I agree, can we be a little milder in our approach, probably more corporate in essence. Your mentor for today is Sujeet James Sarwan.

Dear Nishant,
I have not read the book "7 Habits"; however, I came across this PowerPoint presentation that you had posted. Now, I have no idea about the 4 Quadrants and hence, the purpose of reading this case is only half done. Since the concept behind the case study is related to the subject, I would appreciate it if you could take some more effort and put a few lines on the subject. This would benefit us (readers of this string) more and provide us with an elaborate understanding of the case.
Thank you.
