Hi,

The nominee of the employee will be eligible for PF/Pension/EDLI.

With regard to ESI: Dependents Benefit (DB): DB is paid at the rate of 90% of the wage in the form of a monthly payment to the dependents of a deceased insured person in cases where death occurs due to employment injury or occupational hazards.

Other Benefits:

Funeral Expenses: An amount of Rs. 15,000/- is payable to the dependents or to the person who performs last rites from day one of entering insurable employment.

Hi Karunakar,

As told by Mr. Lakshminarayanan, funeral expenses amounting to Rs. 15,000/- and EDLI benefits from PF can be claimed to the tune of Rs. 1 Lac + depending on the number of years worked.

The company management can consider some ex-gratia payment based on the number of years the worker has worked on a humanitarian basis for the deceased family. If the management desires, they can provide a job to one member of the deceased family.
