Hello All,

My company is not providing me an exit date after resigning. My notice period is 2 months, which I am willing to serve, but they are forcing me to work beyond that until a new replacement arrives and the client is satisfied with him/her. They are citing a condition in my agreement that enables them to extend my notice period unconditionally if they are not satisfied. I have been mentally harassed by the employer on the phone, and he is clearly not willing to release me anytime soon. What should I do in this case as they are citing the condition in my agreement?

The relevant agreement clause has to be examined closely, but as a general principle it can be said that the employer cannot make any employee to serve beyond the notice period.
