I am working in a five-star resort as a training coordinator. Here, the staff is not very professional. If we set any grooming standards, they are not ready to accept. I don't know what to do to convince them as they are not willing to hear anything. Please help me as a training coordinator; what can I do in this situation? My HR is not very supportive in any work, and he does not understand the role of a training coordinator. So, as a training coordinator, what tasks can I perform here?

As Training Coordinator, you have taken on a very difficult task, but if done properly, it could make a huge difference. The importance of proper grooming in the hospitality industry needs hardly any explanation. Non-observance of grooming standards, is it the problem itself or a symptom of a larger issue, such as low morale or a negative attitude? First of all, to make a change, do you have the whole-hearted support of top management, which is very essential before you venture into any corrective action. Please convince your top management on the need and your action plan. Next, you need to develop small modules on what constitutes proper grooming, its importance, advantages, modern trends, the value of customer relations, customer expectations, etc. You may reward some employees for their best turnout, best customer relations, etc. This has to be a well-thought-out process.

Thank you so much, sir.
Sir, I have support from the GM which is a really good thing. However, I actually need support from my immediate senior (HR Manager), but I don't get any support from him. This is because he doesn't have any idea about it and doesn't want to support me in this.
But now, I am trying really hard on this. I know I will succeed.
