The exit process basically consists of the amicable handing over of all the assets and relevant documents in his/her possession to his successor. If time permits, then guide the successor in taking over the job. The HR should ensure that all assets, whether immovable or movable, are handed over to the organization, and all work-related documents are handed over to the relevant personnel.

The exit interview should be conducted on the second last day of the employee's relieving. After the exit interview, the HR does not need to provide any documents to the departing employee. If the exit interview is conducted on the last day, then the full and final cheque, relieving certificate, and experience certificate can be handed over to the employee.

Hi Madhu,

I think Kunjal has explained everything to you shortly. According to me, it can change a little depending on the company policy. Here, I would like to add one point. After the exit interview is completed and all the related documents are collected back from the employees, it will always be better to send out an email to the team in which the resigned employee was working. This will ensure that the team will not hand over any documents on the last day in case of any urgency, and moreover, the team will be alerted not to share any information with that particular employee.

Let me know in case you have any clarifications on the same topic.

Regards,
Amith R.
