Dear All Seniors,

I am working with an interior designing company as an HR Executive. Recently, my company has two projects - one in Faridabad and the other in Dehradun. Our company is engaged there as a sub-vendor. My confusion is whether I should obtain two separate contract licenses for these different states.

Additionally, if we utilize the Workers' Compensation (WC) policy on behalf of the Employee State Insurance (E.S.I), would that suffice for compliance? Our work in Dehradun is not expected to be lengthy, possibly lasting a maximum of 4 months.

Thank you.

Dear Kabir,

The question is, how many people are you engaging? Only if it is more than 20, the license issue would come up. Subcontractors may have a license.

Please check this. Is ESI applicable at the place of work? If so, that is mandatory. Thereafter, workers' compensation is optional. If there is no ESI, consider workers' compensation or other types of insurance.

while subcontracting please check the value of the contractor then take into consideration of the other aspects like ESI etc.,
