Hi,
I joined a new company on 2nd February 2013 and submitted Form No. 13 to transfer my PF from the previous company. My PF amount was transferred successfully, and I received the transfer letter from the PF department. However, when I received the PF contribution slip in this company, I noticed that my current PF number is 216, but the previous PF amount has been transferred to 309, which is incorrect due to a mistake in mentioning the PF number in Form No. 13.
Now, I wish to withdraw my PF and submit Form No. 19 and Form No. 10-C. However, the PF department informed me that I cannot withdraw but can transfer the amount to my current PF account. They mentioned that I should send a letter for PF transfer on the company letterhead. Could you please provide me with a format for this letter?
Please guide me on what I should do in this case as I am planning to get married in December 2014.

Mr. Geet Saini,
Your previous PF amount was transferred to the wrong account. Therefore, you need to write a letter to the PF office of both companies and request a revised Annual Return (Ann K). Based on the revised Annual Return, the present employer's PF office will credit the amount to your correct PF account. Once you receive confirmation, you can submit a withdrawal form if you have left the present company.

Dear Geet,
Your previous PF amount was transferred to the wrong account. Therefore, the first step is to write a letter to the PF office of both companies and request a revised annual statement. Based on the revised statement, the current employer's PF office will credit the amount to your correct PF account. Once you receive confirmation, you can then submit the withdrawal form if you have left the present company.
Hope this information helps.
