Hi Logies,

"To what extent is the use of the internet challenging more traditional methods of recruitment & selection?"

The internet has broken the barriers of recruitment & selection compared to traditional methods, similar to globalization.

The use of the internet in R&S is challenging to the extent:
- Information at your fingertips with just a tap of the keys on Google.
- Provides up-to-date information about the companies where candidates have worked and are currently placed.
- CVs available on search engines allow potential candidates to apply through your company's career website.
- Faster access to communication and interaction. Just today, my colleague mentioned a person who might fit our openings. I quickly found contact details on the website and managed to arrange an interview within twenty minutes.
- It's challenging as it enables reaching the maximum target segment of potential candidates.

The caution is to balance the two methods, technology (internet), and traditional R&S, to find the right employee for the right job.

Cheers,
Rajat
