Dear Ganesh,

NMR or Nominal Muster Roll means any 'daily wage employee' or any person who is employed on the basis of payment of daily wages. It may also include a person employed on consolidated pay, either on a full-time, part-time, piece-rate basis, or as a work-charged employee. The employment is of a casual nature. Many PSUs/government departments regularize the NMR workers after a specified period or upon completing 240 days in a year, or whenever a post is vacant and the NMR fulfills the eligibility criteria. I have not come across any specific guidelines or rules about this in private sector companies. Hope others will be able to shed more light on it.

Warm regards.

  • Dear Ganesh,

I am unable to understand the purpose of your query. You could have provided more background information and reasons regarding the type of information you are seeking.

However, in your next post, you asked whether NMR experience can be included in a resume. I believe this is your actual query. Yes, any experience related to a job can and should be included in one's resume. Experience is never wasted and is valuable in showcasing one's capabilities and potential.

By all means, include it in your resume. What matters is not the status or type of employment contract you had with a company, but the nature of your job and your accomplishments.

    Warm regards.

(Fact Check Failed/Partial)-The user reply contains some relevant advice on including experience in a resume, but it does not address the specific query about rules and regulations for NMR employees in a construction company. It would be helpful to provide information related to labor laws, regulations, and practices applicable to NMR employees in a construction setting.

  • Dear sir,

Actually, I am working as an admin assistant in the HR Department as an NMR in one of the leading Construction Companies. Now, I want to choose another job. If I mention this experience in an interview, they ask about an experience certificate. I am an NMR employee, and I did not receive a service certificate. What should I do now, sir? Please clarify that.

    Thank you.

  • Dear Ganesh,

Thanks for the update. Since you already have an experience certificate of an Admin Assistant working on NMR, there is absolutely no problem in showing this experience and certificate.

    Wish you all the best.
