I am working with an IT company and I need to prepare a training module on workplace etiquette with some fun activities to engage the employees and help them practically understand the importance of such etiquette. Kindly provide me with some ideas on the activities that can be included in the module.

Hi Garima,

Workplace etiquette is always a lighter topic with serious messages compared to other types of one-day trainings.

Please find attached a PPT on Professional Workplace Etiquette. It covers various topics such as:
- What is Etiquette?
- Etiquette & Manners - Soft Skills
- Business & Workplace Etiquette
- Topics on communication - Introductions and handshake
- Values - Showing respect, Kindness
- Office Gossip, Politics
- Sensitization to Gender Equality and Sexual Harassment
- Use of Office Resources, etc.

This should be more than enough to inspire your own ideas on the spot. You can develop stories and examples of "what is the right way and what is not," along with 2-minute activities for each.

Remember, you don't always have to demonstrate. If you like, you may divide the session into two parts:
- Etiquettes that enhance employability and perception at the workplace
- Etiquettes and mannerisms that are perceived as unprofessional and can have serious setbacks in a career

Basically, keep emphasizing "what's in it for me"!

Other than that, it's a nice topic to discuss with your employees. Employees will often seek clarification on certain policies (if you are part of the HR team) in such sessions. Ensure you keep the session on track.

Take their feedback and note down their examples for future reference.
