Respected Seniors,
I am new in HR and have recently joined as an HR Trainee. I want to understand the daily general functions and whether PF and returns are also part of HR. I am very confused about this. Please provide me with some clarity.
Thank you.

Dear Vaibhav,
PF returns are also a part of HR. Apart from that, there are many functions of HR such as Statutory Returns, salary, training, housekeeping, etc. Search on the Research menu at the top, and you will definitely get an answer. If you have any queries, post or research your query. CiteHR and its members will always help you solve your queries.

Dear Vaibhav,
Not only recruitment is a part of HR, but there are also a lot of functional areas:
1) Training
2) Employee Welfare
3) Employee Engagement
4) Statutory (PF/PT/ESIC/MSLWB, etc.)
5) Salary and Wages
6) Appraisal
PF returns, its monthly payment, and record maintenance are also included in HR activities. Most organizations hire consultants for the same, depending on the employee strengths.
