Mostly TS 16949 is applicable to automibile industries or ancillaries of them.
It basically focuses on quality improvement with primary focus on analysis of data.
The companies looking for TS 16949 certification have to control standard deviation and cp and cpk are to be improved there by the focus shifts from % of rejection to ppm.
Six sigma is used as a tool many times for such analysis of data.
