Hi,

I have pursued an MBA in HRM. I want to join a good organization or MNC as an HR executive. Could you please advise me on how to prepare for the interview, the selection process, and the rounds of the interview?

I am looking forward to your valuable suggestions.

Regards,
Neerja.

Hi Neeraja,

It's nice to meet you. We both are in the same track. Well, you should not lose your confidence first; then, you should have a grip on HR basics. When it comes to interview rounds, there will be three, as per my knowledge:

1. Written test/(GD)
2. Technical round (to assess your subject knowledge)
3. Personal interview.

As per my knowledge, these are the rounds.

Hi Neeru,

First, you have to ensure that you are selected for the interview. For this, you have to create a good resume that sets you apart from the competition. If necessary, seek help from professionals. Secondly, apply for more jobs and utilize your contacts and networks. This will increase your chances of getting an interview. Then, you will have the opportunity to showcase your knowledge, skills, etc.

The internet is full of information on the dos and don'ts of job hunting. However, it's all theoretical knowledge. In practice, the more interviews you attend, the more experience you will gain, bringing you closer to your desired position.

Discipline, hard work, and passion are the keys to success. Best of luck!

Hi Neerja,

As rightly said, first, you'll have to have a professionally created resume with you. Second, prepare yourself for certain analytical and personality tests as a lot of companies would conduct such tests regardless of which discipline you come from.

Good luck for your future endeavors.

I got a HR interview next Tuesday from one of my dream hotel. Some nervous about the written test with 2-3 hours. I don’t know what kind of test?
