Hi,
As per PF rules, if the basic salary is less than or equal to 6500, then PF deduction is mandatory. If the basic salary is more than that amount, then it is compulsory to deduct PF without any information or consent from the employee.

Hi Neha,
If the basic salary is more than 6500/-, then it is up to the organization whether they want to provide this facility to the employee or not. This is because if the employer chooses to offer it to the employee, the employer's liability will increase.

Dear Neha,
Regarding new entrants, if the basic salary + DA is more than Rs. 6,500, enrolling in EPF is optional, subject to the willingness of both the employer and employee. However, if an employee is already registered with PF, he must continue the enrollment until the end of service, even if the salary exceeds Rs. 6,500.
