I have completed PGDM with an HR specialization from the Academy for Professional Excellence in Kolkata, which is affiliated with AIMA in New Delhi. Following that, I worked as an Executive in HR & Administration at an Engineering Company and later served as an Assistant Manager in HR & Administration. Currently, I am employed as a Senior Executive Assistant at a Government organization (Biotech R&D) in Guwahati, where my primary responsibilities include Purchase and Stores management while also supporting administrative functions.
I have the intention of pursuing a Ph.D. in the near future. Could anyone suggest where I can pursue a Ph.D. and what field would align with my experience?
Looking forward to hearing from you.

Hi,
You can go to any university website on the internet and find out the details. The best thing is to contact the Dean of the Faculty of Business Management Studies or the Dean of Commerce and Business Management Studies at the respective university by email. Many universities have a common faculty for Commerce and Management departments. Please check. The University Grants Commission has made it mandatory for everyone to undergo a Ph.D. entrance examination, and one has to clear that. Later, finding a topic and a guide (Research Supervisor) is necessary. Once these things are done, you are in the process, and other things will follow.
Be careful in choosing a topic because if you choose a topic that requires extensive traveling or where data cannot be ordinarily collected, you will face hardship. Moreover, the guide plays a vital role. Therefore, choose a guide who has time and is willing to devote some time and effort to guiding you. Don't go by a big name or famous personality for guiding you. You have to get along with them and should be eager to meet with them very often. Therefore, also check the attitude of the person.
Good luck!

Hello, if you wish to do a PhD in HR from a university, please ensure that your postgraduate degree from APE is recognized by the respective university as equivalent to a master's degree. Then, as suggested by Dr. Vasudeva, other norms will prevail, such as clearing the entrance exam conducted by UGC or the respective university for enrollment purposes.
Thank you,
