Hi,

Currently, we are encountering a significant issue of candidates rejecting offers after acceptance. Candidates initially agree on a certain amount, receive the offer letter, but then, just before the joining date, they provide flimsy excuses for not being able to join. I suspect they may have shown their offer letter to their current employer and negotiated a higher salary.

Is there a solution to prevent this situation from recurring?

Regards,
Swati.

(Fact Checked)-The issue of candidates reneging on job offers is common. Consider having a transparent communication process and possibly a backup candidate pool. (1 Acknowledge point)

  • Well, Swati, you can't do anything. You cannot drag them to court for this. It happens, and we have to go through all these. These days, every candidate is keeping 2-3 offer letters, and in the last moment, they decide where to go.

  • Best way to handle such a situation - candidates must be taken in full confidence before they appear in the interview. This part is purely the work of masters of psychology who can judge candidates' future plans.

The second way out is better to generate a psychological phobia in the minds of candidates about the BOND SYSTEM with CONSULTANT. The simple way is to tell your candidates to deposit a check on the day of joining / before joining. You can return the check without taking undue advantage just for your safety's sake. This way, you will be able to establish your brand better with clients on one side and candidates on the other.

    Hi Swati Ahluwalia and Team,

Nowadays, the employer should follow the legal bond or responsible commitment letter from the employee once the employer (interviewed candidate) is satisfied with his/her technical capabilities. This approach can help in resolving issues related to multiple offer letters.
