Hi All,
After leaving my previous company, Infosys, I have joined a Government organization. Infosys has provided me with a single letter which contains details of both relieving and experience.
However, being a Government organization, my current organization treats relieving and experience letters differently. According to their policy, they permanently retain the original relieving letter. The letter I received from Infosys is considered the relieving letter by my current organization, and they have kept the original copy of it.
During my discussion with Infosys HR, it's in line with Infosys' policy to combine both the relieving and experience letters, hence they are unwilling to issue a separate experience letter.
Currently, I am in a situation where I lack any proof of my experience with Infosys.
In this scenario, what steps can I take to obtain the experience letter? Who is primarily at fault, Infosys or my current organization? Both organizations are citing their respective policies. What course of action should I pursue? Any insights you have would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
Regards, Vishwas

Hi Vishwas,
Generally, in all organizations, the relieving letter and experience certificates will be given in a combined format, but in some organizations, separate certificates will be provided. Here, nobody is at fault. According to their norms, they are fulfilling their roles. You could have taken a copy before submitting the original to the current employer.

Thank you, Jeevarathnam, for the reply. In this case, what can I do now? I actually wanted to have the original experience letter with me. Is there no way to get it from Infosys or my current organization?
