Hi Isha,
Though I don't want to suppress your motivation and enthusiasm at this point in your career, as your senior, I think we should guide our juniors to choose the right path. Doing any diploma in Labour laws or any such course won't be of much help in finding a corporate HR job. Employers look for experience, not various diplomas or degrees. This is a harsh reality.
Keep yourself updated with all the latest happenings in HR as a corporate function. Be part of more HR discussion forums and HR online communities to get exposure to the challenges faced by HR professionals across the country.
Wait for your time to come, and you will get the desired opportunity.

Dear Komal,
Are these Diploma courses not of any use? Currently, I am free, so pursuing an additional course can be lucrative. It's not only to get into the corporate world but also for knowledge purposes. Can it be beneficial for my career? Please suggest. Someone has given me information about XLRI to join a one-year course. What do you suggest?

These courses are certainly useful provided you have some practical experience in the HR function. Adding onto your degrees or diplomas won't yield any valuable results. There is no substitute for practical experience. I would suggest not wasting your money on such diplomas without real exposure to the function.
Are you well-versed in all HR theories, concepts, etc.? Do read more about subjects like OD, OB, International HRM, HRA, Indian labor laws. If not, kindly update yourself on all things HR.

Hi Partha,
I was working with a recruitment company and Citifinancial Bank too. I have 2.7 years of experience. However, now it has been a year since I shifted to Pune. I have gotten married; previously, I was in Delhi. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to secure the desired job here. In this case, pursuing further studies could be beneficial for my career.

Hi,
Having read and understood your dilemma and considering the basic fact that you have experience in HR, it is advisable that you do some relevant courses in the same field. The most relevant programs are 11 and 2, unless you have some special interest in the other subjects and you want them as additional qualifications. However, from your professional growth and help perspective, 11 looks the most desired.

Hi Isra,
If you are very serious about your HR career, pursuing distance HR education may not provide a strong foundation. I would suggest that you research reputable B-Schools that offer Human Resources programs. Choose a convenient option and enroll in a full-time course. If that is not feasible, consider part-time courses that follow a similar structure to full-time programs, with classes held in the evenings or on weekends, rather than opting for distance education.
