Dear HR Fraternity,

We are a project company and recently we have received an assignment for pipe laying in Rwanda, Africa. We will be deploying our employees of Indian origin to that site. They will be traveling from India to Rwanda and will stay for 6 months until the project is completed.

I am seeking your help in understanding the compliance requirements such as PF, gratuities, the Factory Act, and any other immigration formalities applicable to these employees.

From India, Rajkot

Dear,

For such an employee, you have to follow all the rules under Indian Labour Laws like PF, Gratuity, Bonus, etc. On the other hand, you need to follow the laws of the country to which he is deputed. Check the laws of that country.

Dear Sandeep Sharma, Thanks for your contribution.

The status quo of your employee shall remain unchanged except allowances & perks separately decided for this outstation work. You have to follow the rules and regulations of that country for both categories, i.e., employees and contractual workmen if hired specifically. The employees who have been deputed from India to Rwanda are also under the canopy of labor laws of that country.
