Dear Seniors,
Merry Christmas to one & all.. I am a student, in my final year, pursuing MBA (Personnel Administration) (2 yr Full Time), which is a UGC recognized course & not AICTE.
Couple of weeks back I faced an Interview of a company -- Campus Placements. I cleared all rounds with flying colours but during my Interview one of the Interviewer told me that "We'll want to prefer a candidate who has degree from AICTE affiliation & not UGC"..
Also, they told me that I was the best in all the candidates. But, they told me that they would hold my name in waiting list & would let me know after speaking to the management.. I know this is not possible & was politely dropped !! :(
My course is a specialized one & I have been studying all aspects of HR thru out unlike AICTE..
Do you all think that this would affect my Career?? :?:
Moreover, is this true that a student of Per. Admin. can work into Manufacturing set-up only?? I don't agree with this as I feel I can work in any sector..
Please do point out if am wrong & suggest..
I am, as it is very upset because of ignorance of HR students for placements in my college & by the companies too.
Do reply with any & all your comments, advice & suggestions..

Accredition of any institution by All India Council of Tech.Education is must and before you proceed, you could have enquired about the institution.
However, you can work either in mfg.industries, service industries, construction and any industry, and hence you need not worry about your career.

There are a few Companies who are particular about selecting students from AICTE recognised institutes. The reason being today there are so many " so called Deemed institutes" stemming and in order to streamline professional education, this body acts by accrediting these institutes.
There is no hard and fast rule, Organisations go by kSA's of Individuals by and large and ofcourse some as i said the Institute you hail from.
Having studied your Personnel Admin am sure there are lot of avenues for you in different sectors, so you dont have to worry on that and that too for the amount of FDI happening, its awesome.
Hence am sure you have a bright career ahead of you , be flexible and be open to new things and changes. sky is the limit.

dont take tension, it depends on the company, some even take graduates, some take MBA from only IIM, XLRI, SYMBI, and some may prefer from only AICTE approved institutes, but it is always better to go with AICTE approved institutes as it will help in long run, and in case ur planning to get into govt service. AICTE has strict norms and regulations regarding study patter.

I am pretty surprised to see individuals giving advise to others without adequate knowledge themselves. AICTE is NOT, repeat NOT a Private Body. It is a statutory organization established by the Govt of India to monitor technical education within the country. This is to ensure a minimum standard of education. However, it is not mandatory for any Institution to obtain the accreditation of AICTE in order to run courses (more often than not, such Institutions fail to comply with the prescribed standards of AICTE!). If you are doing your course from a lesser known Institute, it would be advisable to ensure that it is AICTE certified. However larger names - eg IIMs, XLRI, NIIT, etc. do not require such affiliation, because they are brands unto themselves.
